About
I'm Elena Voss, a freelance web designer & front-end developer based in Seoul, South Korea. I design in the browser and ship sites that are fast, accessible, and easy to update.
Background
I sit in the rare middle between design and front-end — so nothing gets lost in the handoff.
I've spent the last nine years designing and building websites — first at a Seoul product studio, then independently. Working both sides of the line taught me that a beautiful mockup means little if it loads slowly, breaks on a phone, or nobody on the client's team can update it. So I design in Figma and build in code, and I own the result end to end.
My favorite projects are the ones with a number attached: more demo sign-ups, fewer abandoned carts, a faster time-to-first-byte. I start by asking what this site actually has to do, then cut everything that doesn't serve it. The best sites I've built look effortless because the hard decisions happened before a single section was designed.
I work with founders, marketers, and small in-house teams who need a partner, not just a deliverable. Outside client work I write about web performance, rebuild my own site far too often, and mentor designers making the jump into front-end. If that sounds like a fit, I'd love to hear what you're building.
Principles
You get a live preview link every week — no black-box builds, no wondering where it stands.
Real responsive states, tuned type, and the last 10% of polish that makes a site feel expensive.
I design toward your metric — sign-ups, sales, load time — not just a good-looking screen.
Clean code, a CMS you can edit, and a handover doc so you're never locked to me after launch.
Kind words
“Elena redesigned and rebuilt our marketing site in six weeks. Demo requests jumped 40% and the pages load instantly — our team edits everything ourselves now.”
“The most transparent build I've been part of. A live preview every Friday, honest tradeoffs, and a storefront that finally converts on mobile.”

FAQ
A landing page runs one to two weeks; a full marketing site or storefront, four to eight. I'll commit to a dated timeline in the proposal before we start.
Send me a note about your project and I'll reply within two business days.
